  • Uniform Question: Looking for a supplier...

I've been looking for a martial arts supply company that has orange kung fu pants available separately. I have no need for the entire robe package but would like to supply orange pants to my students. If anyone knows of a place where I could order these pants (preferably in the U.S.) please reply. I would greatly appreciate the assistance. Best wishes!

Thanks for asking ...not at all. If you can assist me, I would appreciate it. If not, spend your time training rather than attempting to insult strangers whom you know nothing about. Best wishes!

No doubt you can get any tailor in your area to make them. They're really not that complicated. It's the top that requires some know how to put together. And, getting them from China is a nightmare; because of US quotas, it's damn near impossible to import clothing from China, unless you have special arrangements and paperwork.

We use black sweat pants and grey t shirts at our school. The monk uniform thing is so "not Shaolin..."

lol, @ you guys, good luck finding them, but I've only seen them in a package deal. Arhat, that is a funny link, the thread about it over on kfo is hilarious. Doc might have the right idea with the tailor, just need to find the fabric.

I love the monk uniform. lolo

Thank God I'm not drinking coffee!

For the record if it was a good school I would give it props!

trust me, when I first saw that link, I peed...

Anyway, Subby, it was just a little ribbing. I really didn't think that was you.

Why do you want the bottoms anyway?

They're basically just like any gi bottoms or elastic waistband MA pants.

If you are just hell bent on them, buy a set, go to a pattern maker, tell them you want a pattern in full size scale, s, m, l, xl, xl with nut hammock, whatever...then find a production house and a fabric house.

That's all the bottoms are- like Doc said the tops are where you get into some costs.

Thanks for the positive responses ...I'm wanting to get away the black pants for the simple fact that many/most other schools are using them. While I agree with you Doc that they are not Shaolin, they do stand out. I may have to continue using the black pants if cost becomes a factor. I just figured if someone knew of a source that it could save me some time/money. For the record, it's really not a "monk thing" at all -- just simple aesthetics; I like black and orange together and thought that orange would be easier to obtain than other colors due to the orange Shaolin robes being available.

I have friends in Mexico that tell me they can get pants made for me cheap but I’ve checked with customs and it seems like more work than it’s worth. This is with NAFTA! I can imagine what it’s like trying to import from China.

And Arhat, no offense taken ...it was my first time posting here and it seemed as if I was being greeted by the forum smart-ass. I'm glad to see it was in humor and not an ill-hearted gesture.

                Best wishes!

no kidding, this is a forum of smart-asses. Speaking of whom, where's Zachsan?

And that school site was absolutely hilarious. I like the part at the bottom of the page where it kind of says "Click here to see action shots of our students' privates"

Ok, i changed that but thats seriously what i thought at first. I need to change my e-mail address, those porn sites are are coing in faster than my server can handle them .
