After reading this article, I will do two things:

1.) Invest a shitload in gold.

and

2.) Desire to see a massive propoganda campaign ensue.

Although the way things were outlined in the article, it might be too late before America starts #2.

In order to do that, the citizens should know what kind of shit is going down. Last I checked, this wasn't on a list of things to take care of for both the people and the government.

It matters for the people to know by the time the next election comes around. Policies, if they are important to the people, are what platforms are built on. Not to mention the public outcry that would most likely occour, which should usually lead to government attention and action.

And no, according to the article, China is set up to cause serious damage on all economic fronts. Cutting imports to America isn't going to do anything. China has massive imports of raw materials like steel and lumber, not the other way around. Think of it like they already have the bullets and are loading the gun. What you're suggesting is that America should just run away from the gun-- maybe the bullets will miss.

right...the issue isn't with America's relationship to China, but rather America and China's relationship to the global economy. Basically, due to the 2008 olympic games, the People's Republic of China has been swept into a frenzy of new developments. I'm not saying this article is completely accurate cause I'm certainly curious, if not downright skeptical, about a few tidbits he's mentioned. But I do believe it does a good job of illustrating how the future has arrived with respect to China's changing global image and projected economic growth. Advancements taking shape in China right now are truly spellbinding. In fact, some say it has given rise to the second industrial revolution.

"Last year they consumed nearly half of the world’s cement, twice the world’s consumption of copper, and nearly a third of the world’s coal, 90% of the world’s steel plus nearly every other commodity you can think of has been in greater demand by China."

Why the sudden change of tone, Bush? I mean, is this topic unrelated to Bush's new "alternative stance" on oil?

Koolhaas, who previously proclaimed the skyscraper to be dead, certainly intends to give life to a decidedly atypical high rise. In fact, simply describing it is pretty nigh impossible, Scheereen concedes.

The new headquarters for CCTV, China's state television network, will most resemble a cartoon version of the letter "Z." At 230 meters high, the brightly colored, continuous loop with no right angles will tower over every other building in the city upon completion by 2008."

You have to admit though, Beijing is just unbelievable. I've been going now for the past eleven years on a regular basis, and every time I go, there are more and more incredible modern buildings going up.

An amazing city. But they have to do something with their traffic.

They didn't even mention the building that goes next to it. It's going to be a hotel, with each room of the hotel basically jutting out of one side independently from the other rooms. They designed a whole new elevator system just to get people to their rooms.

I'm all for this "cutting-edge architecture" stuff, but really, what the hell is the point of that?

The 3rd and final Anti-Christ

According to Nostradamus, the first two anti-Christs were extremely evil, and history has shown this to be so; however, Nostradamus speaks of a third anti-Christ who is more hideous than all the others combined. Some have said Sadaam Hussein, the dictator from Iraq (proved false now), or even Osama Bin Laden. Could he be this evil tyrant? Others say that he has not yet appeared. What does Nostradamus say about this third anti-Christ? First, Nostradamus tells us he will come from the Middle East.



Out of the country of Greater Arabia Shall be born a strong master of Mohammed,
He will enter Europe wearing a blue turban.
He will be the terror of mankind.
Never more horror.

Here, Nostradamus says that a man from Greater Arabia will lead his forces on an invasion through Europe. This invasion will start a third world war that will be far worse than all the other wars put together. When will all this take place? In one quatrain Nostradamus gives us an exact date in which the war will be well under way.
In the year 1999 and seven months
From the sky will come the great King of Terror.
He will bring back to life the King of the Mongols; )king of the mongols? Genghis Khan was one of history's greatest kings of terror. Tens of millions died in the bloody conquests initiated by the warlord and his successors, and his record of devastation and genocide is appalling. According to the prophet, Genghis Khan and his empire are now returning: the warlord has been brought back to life. In 1990 in a major propaganda campaign, the leaders of the People's Republic of China restored Genghis Khan to his "rightful" place in Chinese history.)
Before and after war reigns.

Nostradamus predicts the war will begin shortly before the year 1999. It doesn't make much sense to this author, but many are now saying that the 'war' was set 'in motion' in 1999, and now after Septermeber 11th these things are going to come true... as we are now 'at war with terror.' Interpret it how you will. He also tells us how long the war will last.

The war will last seven and twenty years. (so 27 years)

Nostradamus says that the war will be so terrible that the world will come face to face with final annihilation. Here, he implies that the war might involve some kind of horrible weapon, possibly nuclear. Nostradamus tells what the first target will be.

The sky will burn at forty-five degrees.
Fire approaches the great new city.

In this phrase, Nostradamus refers to a great city in the new world of America near forty-five degrees latitude. Experts agree this could only be New York. I know many of you are thinking of other websites that claim this means he predicted September 11th. Again, interpret it how you will. The sky did burn at 45 degrees, but New York was not destroyed, nor was it a nuclear attack.

By fire he will destroy their city,
A cold and cruel heart,
Blood will pour,
Mercy to none.

Although Nostradamus 's predictions for our future sound frightening, the accuracy and dates he gave do not seem to flow. Are they being misinterpreted, or are they just plain wrong? Is the New City at 45 degrees yet to be destroyed? He does give us some hope by telling us how this third world war will end. He says it will end as a result of an unexpected alliance.

When those of the Northern Pole are united,
In the East will be great fear and dread...
One day the two great leaders will be friends;
Their great powers will be seen to grow.
The New Land will be at the height of its power:
To the man of blood the number is reported.

Again, the new land was a common term used by Nostradamus to refer to what we now call America. The countries of the northern pole could be Russia and the United States. We have recently seen the breakdown of Communism in Russia and an increasing friendship between Russia and the U.S. Perhaps the two countries will work together against the source of evil.

The End of the World

Of course, not only have the "experts" on the prophets not always been correct - the seers themselves have not always been quite so accurate in their forecasts. Although people keep claiming that "it's the world will end" they often ignore other prophecies he wrote. Nostradamus NEVER said the world would end in 1666, 1999, 2012, 2096, or any of those years. In fact, he was quite clear we would survive through all of these other conflicts, and if we took it upon ourselves, we could change / prevent what was indeed going to happen.

Time will tell if the Iraq conflict or, indeed, the World Trade Center attack had put the spark to a bigger barrel. As for the end of the world... Nostradamus predicted it to be the year 3786 or 3797, depending on which Nostradamus expert you believe.

Conclusion

So, some of the historical events may have Nostradamus predicted were the war with Napoleon, the American Revolution, the Civil War, the rise and the fall of Hitler, events in the British monarchy such as the abdication of Edward VIII, and the assassinations of Lincoln and John and Robert Kennedy. He also predicted three reigns of terror by persons he named as ?antichrists?.

What Nostradamus did prophesy was that a great war would come sometime during the last five years of the 20th century, presaged by famine, drought and a series of other natural disasters. This war will last close to 30 years, after which there will be one thousand years of peace, or a new golden age. Nostradamus quatrains did not go beyond 3786 or 3797. According to a letter written to one of his sons, the seer claimed this is the year the world will end.

Michel de Nostradamus, gifted French physician and prophet, made and recorded over one thousand predictions during his lifetime. Of those, some say over half have come true. As the new millennium begins his published collections of quatrains have become more popular than ever as people look for answers and direction.

What does the future hold? Was Nostradamus a whack-job or a true prophet? That is for you to decide.

Nostradamus' most famous doomsday prediction warns future generations of a King of Terror descending from the skies in July 1999. This holy terror could be linked to the Third Antichrist who may be the fearsome Mabus of C2 Q62 or the North African Terrorist from C2 Q30 who is from the land of the infernal Hannibal's God. "Baal" was also called "Hammon," a name that can mean "Lord of the Sky."
Many interpreters have tried to understand the prophetic significance of Nostradamus bringing back to life the Roi 'Angolmois (the great King of the Mongols) by the last July of this millennium. The final line makes a cryptic reference to Mars. In this gloomy prediction of the coming of the Third Antichrist in July 1999, Nostradamus seems to foresee the coming of the Millennium. He was greatly influenced towards this opinion by contemporary thought. This quatrain indicates that it will be preceded by the coming of the Third Antichrist from the East, "the king of the Mongols," before the Final Coming of the Great King of Terror. It is interesting to note that Nostradamus foresees war both before and after his coming. He, therefore, does not envisage an instant End of the World.
