  • New Forum / Library Area with many new and educational features

The new Forum / Library is here. There are many additions to this new area, on top of a fully upgraded forum area. The new main sections are as follows:
    • Downloads: In this section you can upload and download various types of files, including hard to find audio and book files.
    • Media: The Media section organizes all sorts of different online streaming videos from YouTube, Vimeo, and other types of sites. You can easily post links to your favorite videos in this section so that the rest of the community can easily find them. These videos are hosted on other servers, and are not kept by us.
    • Blogs: All registered users have access to the russbo.com Blog section. Each individual Blog area is yours, to upload whatever thoughts you might want to record and share with our community.
    • What's New?: This section will direct you to all the various different forum posts and articles that have been uploaded since your last visit.
    • Gallery: The long standing Photo section of russbo.com, now with upgraded software, more pictures (on top of the thousands that are there already), and easier use. Create your own user gallery, or add photos to the multitudes of categories that we already have.
    • Album: Listed in the Forum section sub menu as "Gallery", registered users can create small photo albums that are linked directly to their forum user identity. It's a small section; don't confuse it with the larger, more comprehensive Gallery found in the navigation tabs.
    • Classifieds: A new updated section that allows you to share the stuff that you want to try to sell to other members of our community.
    • russboTV (Videos): The video section of russbo.com, the videos that you find here are hosted by our own servers in a YouTube type fashion. And now, one log in gets you access to all parts of the site; register or log in to the forums, and you continue to use the same log in information in our video section.
    • Chat: A site wide chat system; log into the Forum with your usual user name, and you can then be automatically logged into our Chat system.
    • Support: If you need help from the russboTeam, you can submit a support request ticket in this section. You also might find answers to questions that you have, as other people's support tickets are sometimes made available if they provide some sort of educational value.
    • Community News and Information: Actually, this section that you're reading, here. You can create articles that show up on this page (or as we call it, the CMS, Content Management System section) that are readily available to other members of our community. If needed, we can create a section specifically for you. All materials are reviewed by the russboTeam prior to publication. Educational materials are always desired.
    • Wiki: An extremely powerful production and editing device which allows you to collaborate, create, edit and publish articles, e books, help or instruction manuals, anything that you might want to add of educational value. It functions as a genuine wiki, though it is fully integrated into our forums, and therefore, separate registration is not required. It is just another tool that we at russbo.com present to you, to help further our educational goals concerning all things Shaolin.
    • Arcade: It just wouldn't be russbo.com if we didn't have our play time. And in a sub menu of the Forum, you'll find access to the Arcade, with hundreds of online games that you can use to waste your time. Have fun! Hundreds more games are on the way.

Lots of new features. Much work went into these upgrades; we hope that you enjoy them and find them to be educational. Feel free to spend some time bouncing around the site, and explore all the new features.

Let me know if you find anything that "doesn't work right". I'll fix it as soon as I can. I've tried to make everything "bug free", but given the complexity of the new Forum / Library area, I may have missed something.

      by doc
All registered members can now create articles in the russbo.com Forum / Library area. Submit educational information, or advertise your events, schools, and competitions.

Articles are approved and published by the russboTeam. The submitted articles can be categorized into one of our existing Sections, or, we can create new sections that fulfill your needs. You can essentially have your own separate Section, or website, hosted here with us. Information submitted should be relevant, and of good educational value.

    • Promoting Articles from the Forums
      by doc
One of the innovative new features on vBulletin 4.0 Publishing Suite is the cross-publishing "Promote to Article" functionality. In the spirit of promoting content discovery, we wanted to create features that will allow content to flow between Forums, Blogs, and Articles. For example, there might be a really popular post in the forums, but unfortunately it is buried inside page 13 of a thread. We will now have an option (if you have permissions) to "promote" a forum (or blog) post as a new artic...
