  • russbo.com (and doc?) BANNED in China?

    An email, from China:
I'd really like to get this Xi'an trip in here too b/c i'm not sure if i'll be back here again... i've been contemplaiting some traditional TKD in South Korea. That's still in the works though, one of the guys here supposedly has a friend there now that he's going to try and conact.... and then there's always the possibility of just going there and looking around; staying in a hotel for a couple nights, ask around... shouldn't be too had to find TKD (or any other traditional Korean martial art would suffice) in korea. I've search the web front to back and i haven't found squat...so we'll see. Was going to ask the board on ur website, but the Chinese government internet filters don't seem to take to kindly to your site! haha
A lousy internet connection? russbo server busy? Or has the Chinese finally had their "fill" of me....

    We report. You decide, lol.

Chinese hate the truth. They talk about buddhism and in the next breadth they are worried about saving face. Hyppocrites

If this is true and your banned I am quitting kungfu altogether and joinging my local aikido school, with the sifu who is shaped like an egg with a belt. Did I mention no touch chi blasts form his arse? And of course he is banging one of the female students. At least its not chinese.

Well mortal, unless I'm mistaken, the Chinese government doesn't talk about Buddhism in a positive light in any breath.

doc, it might be because we use the word "freedom" from time to time on this site. I remember reading somewhere that's not cool with the Chinese web filters.

Archie Bunker(my hero) from all in the family used to say that about liberals back on All in the family. You are probably to young for that. Or I am too old.

It actually refers to communism. You know that great way of government that your socialist aging liberal hippy douche professors tell you is so great.

Fortunately, I don't go to college, so I don't have to deal with socialist professors.

That reminds me, it's been a while since there's been a political argument on russbo. We'll have to cook something up. How about this: Bush secretly loves big government, since he's spent more money than LBJ and has never vetoed a bill. Go!!

I love it. Bush is really a closet democrat, whose more concerned with the energy crisis than the education or environmental crisises. He's really trying to help the american way of life by protecting the oil we so deserve.

Well it's not really a question of "deserving" so much as "needing". Without that black stuff, the economy pretty much stops. We need to get it somewhere, and due to overwhelming environmental restrictions, that somewhere can't be the U.S. At least republicans are realistic about the need for it, although I think they're a little too pragmatic with their solutions. (Saudi Arabia.)

Anyway, I think your general sentiment could be applied to not only Bush but most neocons. The worst part is not that Bush is spending so much, but that there's so little outcry from his "small government" party about it. It seems republicans really only want government to be small when the other guy's in charge of it.

This neocon says drill out the whole preserve. F uck it. I could care less about the caraboo! If it makes it easier for me to fill my giant sport utility vehicle with petrol.
We should take over Saudi Arabia. They hate us anyway! Now they REALLY will have something to cry about.

You mean abolishing slavery? I think he's got a pretty good record on that front, actually.

Spending obviously is no longer an issue (everybody's doing it), but it's really the whole federalism thing that's going (sorry, went) down the drain. Republicans believe in states' rights - unless of course you're talking about drugs or gay people. Or you know, limits on federal power.

It would've made a lot more sense than that whole Iraq thing. Except that just about everyone in the Muslim world would have become a terrorist instantly. None of them really liked Iraq anyway - but Saudi Arabia's got Mecca.
