    Modern wushu in chinese

    Hey guys,

    I was wondering what the chinese(mandarin) word for modern competition wushu was. Is there any specific term for this?

    not really, they just call all martial arts modern and traditional wushu

    功夫【gōngfu】 skill; art; kung fu; labour; effort.
    武术【wǔshù】 wushu, martial arts such as shadowboxing, swordplay, etc.,
    formerly cultivated for self-defence, now a form of physical culture.

    to differentiate traditional from modern wushu you'll say "chuantong wushu" 传统武术 (traditional wushu) verses "xiandai wushu" 现代武术 (modern wushu).
