  • Need a teacher

I need to learn discipline both physical and mental, pacing myself, how to commit, how to follow through, and camraderie. Theoretically, I should have learned these things as a child, but I didn't. I need to learn to work as a team and follow a series of steps towards a goal. Does anyone know anyone who can teach me this?

I'm searching for a teacher or a school and would appreciate any help in that direction.

I know there are a lot of schools that require discipline, but I don't have it so I probably won't get very far in those schools, but who knows.

I'm trying to teach myself, but that takes longer.

    Thanks

im assuming you mean martial arts.. the nice thing about martial arts is the most important things you can do alone and are ultimately up to you anyhow. if u dont have a teacher and want to discipline yourself etc start stretching and working out, work your finger strength and your joint strength, those are important in pretty much any martial art.

wherever your located there has to be a teacher of some style somewhere u should let us know.

There are certain factors that come into play here.

Age, how old are you? this will be a prime factor in determining the amount of strain you should undertake in the early stages. If you choose to learn martial arts.

Health, are you mentally and physically healthy? can you handle the training? Can you handle the duress? and persevere? Do you have any health issues?

If you dont see yourself as a martial artist, then i would suggest studying yoga. Its very easy to find hatha yoga teachers in or around your area at various community and recreation centers for a very low price if not free. I have seen seniors practicing yoga, in better health and even more flexible then i was, hahaha.

If you are low on money, and want to find a yoga teacher or even a martial arts instructor i would suggest you start at your local rec center, for information.

You can also go to libraries and read or check out all the books you can ever desire to read, libraries are great informational sources.

If you have any questions you can come and ask us. Im sure that someone will respond, and "they" are all intelligent. (most of the time.)

Arizona, but I'm willing to travel. I would like to learn martial arts or yoga. I'm probably in good health and I'm low on cash, but what I really need to learn is discipline, as in the practice something everyday consistanly kind of discipline. Right now I'm not succeeding at that.

Depends on the individual i suppose. It really depends on you. Your passions and interests.
