  • Shaolin Lineage

    hi all,

I wondered if anyone has any facts on the recent history of Shaolin temple?

I've heard stories that the shaolin monks are a bunch of non-monk dudes that were placed there by the government , and other similar stories, yet I've seen pretty dedicated looking monk dudes like Shu Xi and shi De Yang (and his generation of practioners)

    - Where did these guys come from? who taught them and who taught there shifu's ?
    - What happened to the Shaolin Temple during the cultural revolution?
    - Where has the tradional lineage come from when you go back through the 80's, 70's, 60's...??

I'd be really happy to hear (preferably non speculative) info on this if anyone knows it...??

    cheers,

I've got some lineage on Shi De Cheng in the CHANWUXUEYUAN section of the site. Goes back to the late 1800's. As for the other questions, start reading the site. It's in there. And there's a lot of it. Unfortunately, in a lot of places.
