I'm inclined to agree with onesp1ng. Right now a president with "no substance" sounds beautiful. I'll certainly take that over McCain's "we must all forget our selfishness and serve the motherland" bullshit. (So I'm exaggerating a bit, but still...) Plus I don't think we can afford another cowboy when it comes to foreign policy. Sure it's mostly bullshit, but diplomacy has always been mostly bullshit, and unless you're ridiculously powerful you play by the rules. Which we're just not, anymore.
