i agree with doc's feelings about religion. i also believe that in america we have the right to believe what we want. that has absolutely nothing to do with the question of whether or not scientology is a cult.
neither, for that matter, does the fact that releases are a normal part of life. medical releases are not, nor should they be, a normal part of religion.
listen, i know you believe very strongly in scientology, and nobody is trying to put you down simply for believing in something unconventional. lots of us on this site believe in some very unconventional things. but the way you write belies an intelligence that just does not come through in your reasoning. when you've gotten to the point that you're defending something by bringing up elements that you know have nothing to do with it, and then you're going so far as to suggest that incriminating pictures must have been doctored or digitally altered... well, you're believing in something so firmly that the facts have no place in that belief.
i suggest that you ask yourself the question: what theoretical event could ever possibly prove to me that scientology is a cult? if your answer is "nothing", then your faith is blind. but if you allow for that possibility at all, i suggest you review the evidence one more time, without dismissing it as conspiracy. http://www.rickross.com/groups/scientology.html
