  • History Tab

The History Tab lists previous versions of an article. A user can only see this tab if they have permission to "View Article History".

In each row, the "(cur)(last)" and radio buttons allow users to compare items in this list. Then, the row contains the date and time that the edit took place and the user who made that edit. The reason for the edit appears below that, including if the edit was reverted, or if only a section was edited.

If there are a lot of items in the list, it might be more than 1 page long. Use the "View" controls to see more of this list. Clicking any of the numbers in parentheses will change the number of items that appear on each page.

    Viewing Previous Versions

The view any version, click on the date and time of that version in the list. You will automatically switch to the Article tab, which will now show the parsed version of the page as of the date and time you clicked.

Additionally, for section edits, the -> links on the History tab will jump to the modified section.

A message will appear at the top alerting you that you are viewing an older version of the page. If you are viewing a new version pending review, the message will reflect that instead.

The controls on this page allow you to navigate between older and newer versions, switch to the current version of the article, or compare this revision with any of those by clicking the respective "(diff)" link.

You can't edit an old version of the page. The Edit tab only contains the current version of the article's text.

    Comparing Versions

From the History tab, there are several ways to compare the changes bewteen two versions of an article:
    • Click "(cur)" - compare the selected version with the live version.
    • Click "(last)" - compare the selected version with the one before it.
    • Use the radio buttons to select any two versions. Click "Compare Revisions".

When using any of these options, you will automatically switch to the Article tab, which will show the parsed versions you selected side by side.

The text may be separated into several blocks. Blocks labelled with - and + indicate that it was changed between the two versions.

The controls on this page allows you to navigate compare older and newer versions or switch to the current version of the article. If you have permission to "Restore Wiki Articles to Previous Versions", clicking the "(undo)" link will revert the article to the earliest version that is currently being compared.

If an edit is pending review, an "(approve)" link may be listed instead for the most recent version.

    Reverting Articles to Previous Versions

If you're not happy with the changes that have been made to an article, you can "Undo" those changes and revert the article to a version of your choosing.

Clicking any "(undo)" link from the History tab will change the article back to the version below that link.

The History tab will ask you to confirm the action before continuing.
    • Continue - revert the article to its earlier version.
    • Cancel - return to the History tab's list of versions.
