Nevermind that she is completely unqualified, was part of a group in Alaska asking for secession from the US and is under investigation for some shading dealing as Governor. I wasnt overly impressed by her speech myself. Didnt really hit home for me. I'd vote for her for prom queen but the country is at war, you're sick in the head if you think I want her anywhere near the presidents office during that. In fact Alaska is exactly where I want her during a crisis the president has to deal with.

      You're right.

Better to have some Pro radical Islamic Socialist sit with our enemies and partake in tea and crumpets, and talk...

Just like he did in Kenya.

Well, luckily our government isnt run by just one person. There are checks and balances in place. So, is it better to sit down and talk to your enemies or simply ignore them? People make it sound like Obama will surrender to Bin Laden if elected. Give me a break. Communications can be a good thing. It may prevent future armed conflict. Though if ti doesnt it makes the position for invading a country that much stronger. Simply ignoring the problem and not talking to the leaders of these countries will only further isolate us. Rest assured they are talking to other governments, namely CHina and Russia. It is of the utmost importance that the President be open to dialogue so we dont find ourselves completely isolated in the world.

Actually she just was sort-of friendly with the secessionists. But I wish she actually were one. That would have been much cooler.

How would the Neo-Cons react is Obama was "sorta friendly" with a secessionist organization. They would have had repeated orgasms at that news.

A statement that seems to be becoming less true every four years. Our option is to choose which of two people we'd like to give way too much power to. One button to End Poverty, Disease and War and the other to End Terrorism and Fix Washington. Both candidates know they would never get elected on an "oversee the executive branch and act as a check on Congress" platform.

Well apparently they've already managed to convince some people *coughdoccough* that he's a big fan of Islamic terrorists.

He's a socialist, a leftist, and far far too liberal for my tastes. Besides, he's a bullshitter. The guy basically spent his career grooming himself for this election run. Sorry guys, I'm too far gone; I really can't stand this Obama guy. And I especially can't stand his bitch racist wife.

Notice I'm not saying anything good about the Republican candidates either...

Agreed. I'm just so sick and tired of the bullshit that is American politics. I wish there was a reset button somewhere, or a way to get people to stop ****ing around and run the damn country for the benefit of it's people.

Obama likes government too much for my tastes, too, but I wouldn't call him a socialist. I haven't heard him advocate nationalizing any industries, for example. And he's demonstrated an interest in how economies actually work, which is more than can be said for a lot of Democrats. Consider yourself lucky Hillary's out of it.

But more to the point, yes, the dude is 100% talk and no action, which is his main appeal to me. I'm hoping for an Obama presidency in which none of his campaign promises see the light of day (or better yet he changes his mind about them - very possible), versus a "Maverick" presidency in which we bomb whoever looks at us the wrong way. And whoever wins, I'm voting for the other party down the line for Congress.

Look at Obama's speech, the one in front of the Greek columns, you know, right before he was going to ascend to the heavens. In it he came right out and said he wanted free college educations for everyone, free health care for everyone. And he was going to pay for it by taxing the rich, which, if you really look at it, that level between rich and middle class keeps dropping...

I've read a few things about this guy, and he most definitely has socialist associations in his past, not only in Chicago, but also in Kenya. Some of his actions in the past are not ones to be proud of; some of them were just downright self serving.

But, regardless. A little socialism never hurt anybody, even though it doesn't work. My biggest beef with him is that he's not honest. He can't accept when he's wrong. He has no sense of honor, honesty, or integrity. And I may be showing my age, because there was a time when honor and integrity were important. These days, people seem to be more interested in what they can get for themselves, regardless of how they get it.

Well, he said "affordable" health care and college... but it probably doesn't matter what he said. Anyway, if you're a big fan of Honesty and Integrity, you don't have any good option in this race, or probably any major race in the country.

Barack Obama’s campaign brushed off suggestions Monday that a verbal gaffe the Democratic candidate made during a weekend television interview is anything more than just that.

In an interview Sunday with ABC’s “This Week” host George Stephanopoulos, Obama tried to suggest that FOX News and others “closely allied” to Republicans are promulgating the notion that the Illinois senator is Muslim.

Asked about whether McCain himself has done anything to suggest he’s Muslim, Obama said, “Let’s not play games. What I was suggesting — you’re absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith. And you’re absolutely right that that has not come…”

“Christian faith,” Stephanopoulos interrupted, correcting Obama.

“… my Christian faith. Well, what I’m saying is that he hasn’t suggested that I’m a Muslim. Fox News
LOL, lying mother****er. I really don't understand why people can't see through this piece of shit.

Maybe Ironcross shoul remind all of u guys r out of the topic? The thread is about Palin, not Obama or socialism.

Doc, if u dont like liars in politics try the essay by the philosopher Hanna Arendt about lies and politics. It specifically focus on the american administration lies during the vietnam war.

So what do u think about the republican administration that seem to have lied about the cause of war to Iraq/massive destruction weapon?

And what about you when u say socialism does not work? Is it ignorance or a lie to serve ur private interest? Socialist and social democrat policies have been done in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, France, Germany and these countries are not in chaos, their economy is doing ok (but to whose benefit is another question(, they have social, health and education system that might be more non violent than the USA.

As a shaolin disciple having taking vows maybe u should be careful to not spreading lies to serve ur private interest and also of the words u use to talk about people. To say Obama is a mother****er and a piece of shit might be harsh speech and not very buddhist.

                            Om and peace and love

i believe you may be right, liu. the people from some of the countires you've highlighted are some of the highest paid, most educated in the world. i envy many europeans for what they have due to "government intervention," which, for some reason, is something people like bill o'reilly feel will result in lawlessness and the destruction of american morals and ethics. americans don't live in a true democracy anyhow....
